MY GOD
He will be called Emmanuel
(God with us
and in us)
The Almighty God is too great for
me.
I prefer the
humble and lowly God, whose face is shown to me by Jesus and is so similar to
ours and with a heart that is so human. My God is friendly to the poor,
the sinners, the sick, to those who are weighed down by heavy burdens, to those
who are hungry in their bellies and to all those who hunger for justice,
forgiveness and peace. My God loves everyone while having a soft spot for the
little ones.
My God is content of being good,
tender and approachable. He bends over the nearly dead embers and blows on it
very gently to awaken its fire. He is weak like us, poor like us and very
patient. Most of the time, he is powerless like us.
My God fades in us all the way into
the shadow of our bones so as to graft us on him and have us to be born again
in his garden on the side of the eternal light.
In my point of view, to look at God
in this way does not take away any of his greatness. On the contrary, it is
rather great on his part that he be really one of us.
